The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has released a new video on the future of food. We heard from Executive Editor, Scott Aughenbaugh, who said he wanted to outline trends on what may be changing in what and how we eat. Aughenbaugh believes food will be a larger part of the security discussion going forward, whether it’s in the areas related to demographics, hunger, obesity, poverty, big data, drones, biotechnology or climate change.

For Aughenbaugh, food shortages, riots and mass migration will contribute to global instability. But the incredible advances in food-production technology can offer solutions. Yet to improve and innovate requires an ongoing dialogue on global trends, science, technology and improving farming practices that are sometimes perceived to be old, unethical or taboo. This video discusses a few of these key concepts in the hopes of adding to that dialogue to improve the future of food.
