U.S. food and beverages will be featured at Canada’s largest food exhibition, SIAL Canada, which opens its doors next week in Montreal to more than 15,000 visitors from 60 countries.
SIAL Canada will run from April 13–15. In total, some 32 U.S. companies with 233 new products to be introduced to the market will be showcased at the USA Pavilion. The U.S. has special ranking this year as the show’s Country of Honor.
Canada is the #1 export market for U.S. consumer-oriented value-added products, reaching more than $17 billion a year, an amount double to the second highest export destination (Mexico).
The U.S. Sustainability Alliance will have a booth in the USA Pavilion featuring information, videos and products of the Alliance’s member organizations including the American Peanut Council, Bard Valley Date Growers and the California Almond Board.
The U.S. accounts for about 60% of the value of all Canadian agriculture and agri-food imports and the two countries have the world’s largest bilateral trading relationship, with agricultural trade reaching some $45 billion approximately $126 million per day.
