SUMMARY: An update on the U.S. pork industry’s progress towards its 2030 sustainability goals and targets
DESCRIPTION: The 2025 We Care report quantifies the U.S. pork industry’s progress towards its sustainability goals, which are rooted in its six We Care Principles: animal well-being, people, food safety, public health, the environment, and communities. Notable achievements include a commitment to the highest animal welfare standards, with more than 95% of pigs produced in locations participating in certified quality site assessments. Other highlights include the pork industry’s emerging role as a carbon sink, with pork producers actively removing more carbon from the atmosphere than they generate on the farm.
