DESCRIPTION: The Peanut Research Foundation’s annual report outlines the research projects it funded in 2022 to help the U.S. peanut industry retain its global leadership position. Researchers made significant strides in addressing some of the biggest challenges facing U.S. peanut growers. For example, they developed new cultivars with strong disease resistance, which promise to save production costs while improving the industry’s sustainability story. They also made navigating large volumes of peanut genome data less complex, which will help enhance breeding programs.
