SUMMARY: A 5-year analysis of how GMOs and gene editing are perceived in traditional and social media
DESCRIPTION: In recent years, there has been much discussion about biotechnology, and consumers have often viewed it with mistrust and suspicion. However, a new five-year study of English-language traditional and social media offers cautious optimism for the scientific community. According to the analysis, one aspect of biotechnology – gene editing – is viewed favorably by the public and, consequently, could achieve its promise of advancing food security and environmental sustainability.
