Climate change and extreme weather are a pressing concern for farmers, and remain a key focus despite the Covid-19 pandemic, according to IPSOS Mori research. In a survey of European farmers, more than half (53%) said climate change was the immediate priority while 63% agreed climate change would have a greater impact on their business than Covid-19 over the next five years.

According to the Syngenta-commissioned research, only 17% of European famers plan to adapt their practices as a result of the pandemic. This contrasts sharply with IPSOS Mori global research carried out earlier this year, in which 61% farmers said they planned to change their practices to reduce their emissions in response to climate change concerns.
