DESCRIPTION: Using nationally representative survey data from U.S. soybean farmers alongside data on costs and returns, this study examines key developments in U.S. soybean production over the past two decades. It summarizes changing trends in acreage, yield, prices, costs, and returns. It also analyzes how production practices have shaped these trends along with factors such as growing export demand, trade and biofuel policy, weather, and other environmental concerns.
