SUMMARY: The latest trends in animal feed consumption and sustainability across U.S. livestock, poultry and aquaculture
DESCRIPTION: A new report from IFEEDER and industry partners provides a detailed analysis of feed consumption among major livestock, poultry and aquaculture species in the United States. It identifies the animals that accounted for the largest share of the 283.6 million tons of feed consumed in 2023 and the most commonly used ingredients out of more than 70 examined. The report also offers critical insights into sustainability trends, such as the use of “circular” feed ingredients, byproducts from the human food industry and other industrial processes that might otherwise end up in landfill.
