U.S. farmers will be able to better assess their environmental impact with new software tools that will include metrics to measure sustainability. Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, which is comprised of more than 120 members representing all facets of the U.S. agricultural supply chain, announced that it is partnering with qualified data management companies to ingrate its Fieldprint® Platform with leading software for farm management, precision agriculture, and decision support.

Field to Market brings together a diverse group of stakeholders to focus on defining, measuring and advancing the sustainability of food, fiber and fuel production. Field to Market created The Fieldprint® Platform to measure the environmental impacts of commodity crop production and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. With the goal of engaging 50 million acres in its Supply Chain Sustainability Program by 2020, the integration of farm management software could increase the reach of the sustainability analysis it previously offered through the Fieldprint® Calculator, Field to Market’s free and confidential online tool for commodity producers.

“By combining Field to Market’s sustainability metrics and algorithms together with leading software solutions farmers can simultaneously evaluate productivity, profitability and sustainability options as part of their planning process,” said Rod Snyder, president of Field to Market. “This integration now provides farmers with a robust analysis of their sustainability performance at their fingertips, which is underpinned by the industry’s most accepted and recognized sustainability measurement framework.”
